Well, it has certainly been a whirlwind of a 4 – 5 week period for everyone.  Paul and I hope that you are all well and finding things to keep yourselves busy while remaining safe

We are working diligently to reschedule all of the postponed performances from the late winter/spring of the 19 – 20 season.  But as you are all aware, the view from 3 or 2 or even 1 week ago is vastly different from today.  All of the tours we tried to reschedule for June—-Classic Nashville Roadshow, Prime Time Trio, The Everly Set, Sons of the Pioneers and Alliance Brass—are in the process of being rescheduled either later this summer, or blended into the 20- 21 season.  We are sorry to give you this news and do appreciate your efforts to confirm the dates.  Between the inconsistency amongst the various state’s governors’ directives, guidance from the health care professionals and the likelihood that many of your members will not attend a large public gathering until clearly safe to do so, there is just too much uncertainty around the dates.  Please do not announce any rescheduled dates from the 19 – 20 season until we give you the OK.

Please do, however, rely on your confirmed dates for the 20 – 21 concert season to be ready to start your membership campaign (if you’ve not already done so.)  We are excited to believe that schools will reopen as normally scheduled, the businesses will gradually reopen and begin to function again, and we will all be anxious and relieved to return to attending fine live performances.

As many of us are looking for productive projects while staying safe, we would suggest learning more about Mail Chimp (a software program for ease of communicating via email), Zoom (a software program facilitating video-conferencing), and Pay Pal (a method of purchasing memberships online through your concert association website).  We will post more info on each of these three topics in the future.

We would like to leave you with a powerful new piece of music featuring one of our favorite trumpeters, Jens Lindemann, the leader of Brassfire.  He and many world renowned trumpeters remotely prepared Hope for the Future! which was written& performed as a tribute to the health care providers caring for the people afflicted with this terrible Covid-19 around the world.  Find it here.  Jens and Ryan Anthony are long-time friends and former Canadian Brass trumpeters.  As a bit of trivia, there are at least 5 trumpeters who have toured for Allied.  Can you identify them and their ensembles?
